Driver's Ed Class
What happens after I complete the class?
Once you've finished the 30 hours of classroom instruction, you'll move on to schedule your 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with one of our certified instructors. After successfully completing your driving lessons and meeting all course requirements, you'll be eligible to schedule your Road Skills Test with Elevate Driving Academy.
When you pass the test, you'll receive the necessary paperwork to take to the DMV, where you can apply for and receive your official driver's license.
How long does it take to complete the class?
Our classroom portion includes 30 hours of instruction.
Does the classroom have to be completed to start behind-the-wheel lessons?
Yes. Once you have completed the class, you can schedule your driving lessons through our website.
What happens if I miss a class?
Students cannot and should not miss class. If any necessary absence occurs during the classroom portion of instruction, the student must contact our office to arrange a makeup date and time to complete the in-class portion of the driver's education course. Students are strongly encouraged not to miss a class as rescheduling is difficult and maybe weeks later.
Do I need a permit to start classes?
All students must obtain a TIP (Temporary Instruction Permit) card from an actual state Office of Motor Vehicle location to attend driver's ed.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?
If you fail to show up for a lesson or do not cancel or reschedule on our website at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $30 late cancellation fee.
Do you offer payment plans?
At this time we do not.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, or American Express.
What if I forgot my username or password?
You can reset your username or password on our website by clicking the "Forgot your Username or Password?" link on the login page.
How old do I need to be to start driver's ed?
Each student is required to be at least 14 years and 9 months of age, entering the 9th grade or higher and provide parental/guardian (domiciliary parent) authorization to be enrolled in the course.
How long does it take to complete driver's ed?
The completion time depends on age, scheduling flexibility, and instructor availability. Typically, each student is done with the classroom portion and behind-the-wheel lessons within eight weeks.
Do I need a temporary license to start driver's ed?
All students (17 years and under) must obtain a TIP card from an actual state Office of Motor Vehicle location to attend driver's ed. The purpose of the temporary instructional permit card is to verify the student's identity and to address any sort of medical conditions that could prevent a person from being in the driver's seat of a vehicle.

What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?
Our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in standard cars.
How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?
This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability. You can take one 2-hour behind-the-wheel lesson each day and schedule up to three driving lessons in advance. You must have one practice day between lessons. So, you could schedule Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Once you complete Monday's lesson, you could schedule another upcoming lesson.
How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?
Log in to your student account on our website. Choose an available time and your preferred instructor.
Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?
No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.
Can I use my own car?
No, our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in standard cars.
Are your instructors licensed?
Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?
Should you need to reschedule a lesson, you may do so by logging into your account on our website. You must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $50 late cancellation fee.
Will I have other students in the car with me?
No - your behind-the-wheel lessons are one-on-one with a certified instructor. This personalized approach ensures you get individual attention, focused coaching, and a comfortable learning environment tailored to your pace and skill level.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. You may choose the same instructor for each lesson if they are open or try a different instructor.

What will I learn during my behind-the-wheel lessons?
During your behind-the-wheel lessons, you'll gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to become a safe, confident, and responsible driver. Our instructors make sure you understand not just how to drive - but how to drive safely and smartly in real-world situations.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
Currently we do not offer that service.
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
You can start driving lessons anytime with a valid TIP or driver's license. You can schedule driving lessons on our website once registered and paid in full. If you are under 18, you must complete the driver's ed class before starting behind-the-wheel lessons.
