Teen Driver Ed

Program Includes:

30 Hours of Classroom Instruction

• Classroom instruction includes textbooks, instructor-led lectures, videos, and guest speakers

• Curriculum is based on the Louisiana Class E Driving Manual

8 Hours of Private Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

• Four 2-hour driving sessions

• Students begin in a parking lot for initial skill assessment, then progress through a structured, confidence-building lesson plan  

State Written Test

• The written test is given at the end of the classroom course. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass. Students who do not pass may retake the test after completing their behind-the-wheel training.

A parent or legal guardian is required to attend a mandatory parent orientation prior to the start of the course. This class is for students ages 14 years and 9 months through 17 years old.

Louisiana Road Test Information 

Road skills tests are offered to current Elevate Driving Academy students as well as students who have completed their driver's education training at another approved school.

Road Skills Test Only

Road skills testing consists of an on-the-road evaluation of your knowledge of the basic operation of a vehicle as well as your mastery of driving laws and skills. You must obtain a score of 80 or above to pass. A $20 retake fee will apply if a passing score is not received. Fees for testing are non-refundable. The road test is required to obtain a license from the Office of Motor Vehicles.
